Steve Davis visits the Ribble Valley Snooker Youth Club
11/03/2010
Six times World Snooker Champion visited Whalley Village Hall last Friday night to see how the Ribble Valley Snooker Youth Club was progressing since he launched it last November. Each week the Lancashire Young Peoples Service organise the youth club, free, enabling youngsters to have something to do on a Friday.
The concept is the brainchild of North Lancs Training Group’s World Snooker Coach, Chris Lovell, who says “our concept is similar to twenty twenty cricket with a real fun aspect to engage the youngsters on a Friday night”. Steve Davis says credit should go to the Lancashire Young Peoples Service for getting behind such a great initiative to get youngsters off the streets on a Friday evening. Who knows, we may find a budding future World Champion.
The project runs until the end of March and is from 6.30 – 8.30 p.m. each Friday evening upstairs in the Village Hall.
