SNOOKER BOOST FOR SKILLS
13/11/2009

Dads and their lads chalked up their cues and had the chance to meet a true snooker hero.
Former World Champion, Steve Davis, appeared at the Academy to mark the end of their recent snooker coaching sessions.
The scheme, run by the Paul Hunter Foundation, invited year six pupils in the area to develop their skills and understanding of the sport.
Leading up to Davis’ appearance, the budding snooker starts had to carry out several research tasks into aspects of the sport which they then discussed with their teachers.
As well as developing pupils’ knowledge of the sport, the sessions aimed to boost reading and communication skills. Mr Taylor said, “Steve was brilliant with the students and they responded well to his sagely advice. The project was a huge success and everyone benefited from the experience.”
