If the answer is Yes, you will be supported all the way with first class information, advice and guidance by the Foundation’s Grade A World Snooker Coach, Chris Lovell.

The Foundation offers a 10 week initial programme with visits from Chris and the team who will demonstrate and train your local team in the successful concept which has led to so many young people coming off the streets via the Paul Hunter Foundation.

You will need a base to deliver the programme, typically a snooker club with a minimum of 5 tables which can be used in the evenings between the hours of 6 and 8 or at weekends when young people will want to be involved.

Steve DavisIt is important to point out, in line with the charity’s objective, the Foundation’s concept is to engage kids off the street supported by aspects of first line coaching, where necessary. Typically sessions after a short space of time, attract between 30 and 40 kids. We would like for an area to build links with localised agencies such as the Young People Service/Connexions, the Police, Council, Youth Offending teams and most of all the local community.

playing snookerDuring the 10 week development programme the Foundation will provide:
training for staff
resource pack for delivering sessions
polo shirts for staff
costs for hire of the snooker club and staffing

By the end of the 10 weeks we would hope that the localised session leader and their team will have:
created links with the local media
seen their programme grow in numbers
recruit like minded people to train as session leaders
engaged the local police force and community partners
identified funding from week 11 onwards
