Shaun Murphy visits lancashire
01/07/09
Current UK Champion, Shaun, visited East Lancashire recently when he visited four specialist schools involved in the employability project, Shine.
Each special school was given a six foot snooker table and took part in a full day’s snooker activity with Steve Davis and also all participated in the BBC documentary with regards to the Foundation.
Shaun visited Broadfield, White Ash, Northcliffe and Tor View specialist schools where he also presented them with their Foundation Membership Certificates. During his visit he met the Mayor of Hyndburn, Councillor Paul Barton and his wife, Sarah. The Mayor has nominated the Foundation as one of his chosen charities this year.
Shaun also took part in the Paul Hunter Foundation roadshow held at Cuemasters Snooker Club and he was the guest of honour at the Accrington Academy’s sports presentation evening.
Throughout his time again in East Lancashire he proved just what a class act he is, both on and off the table.
Thanks Shaun.
